E’ stato un fine settimana particolarmente interessante.
Lo scorso week end infatti ho avuto la possibilità di partecipare al corso di formazione sulle vendite organizzato da Performance Strategies e dal titolo: “Dritti al sì”.
Dato che mi sono appuntato alcuni spunti che ritengo interessanti, vorrei condividere con voi i miei pensieri, soprattutto sull’intervista a Matteo Motterlini.
L’intervista a Matteo Motterlini è avvenuta in seguito al suo intervento.
Sono infatti riuscito a scambiare qualche parola e rivolgere due domande al professor Matteo Motterlini, esperto di neuroeconomia ed economia comportamentale.
I relatori dell’evento sono stati: Matteo Motterlini (il massimo esperto italiano in neuroeconomia ed economia comportamentale, professore ordinario all’università San Raffaele di Milano), Stuart Diamond (Autore del best seller Getting More è considerato il maggiore esperto mondiale di negoziazione) e Jack Cambria (pluridecorato comandante per 30 anni dell’elite hostage negotiation team della polizia di New York, la squadra di 100 negoziatori specializzati della polizia di New York).
Probabilmente le aspettative per i relatori stranieri erano talmente elevate da farmi dire che, facendo un resoconto della due giorni, l’intervento che ho più apprezzato è stato quello del professor Motterlini.
Motterlini ha “fatto a fette” il nostro cervello, spiegandoci quali sono le dinamiche presenti nella nostra testa e come troppo spesso le nostre decisioni siano frutto di un’emozione e di un irrazionalità dovuta all’istinto.
Confrontando questi aspetti al mondo aziendale e delle vendite, si capisce bene quanto diventi necessario per un venditore o un imprenditore entrare in sintonia con i potenziali clienti, creando empatia fin dal primo incontro.
La vendita è basata sulla psicologia ed è indispensabile entrare nella sfera emotiva dell’altra persona (il potenziale cliente).
Questo è il motivo per cui bisogna conoscere la logica del cervello, diventa per questa ragione importantissimo capire e conoscere come funzionano le nostre emozioni.
Troppo spesso ci fermiamo alla prima informazione che ci viene data, considerandola attendibile senza andare a controllare fino in fondo, considerandola veritiera a priori, come se fosse un dogma.
Allo stesso modo, quando comunichiamo, è importantissimo che le informazioni che forniamo agli altri siano di rilievo, altrimenti non servono a nulla.
Motterlini ha poi fatto esempi concreti e specifici di come la cornice in cui inseriamo un’informazione modifichi il significato di un quadro.
Se voi foste al supermercato e, nello scaffale degli yogurt doveste scegliere tra uno yogurt con solo il 20% di grassi o uno yogurt con ben l’80% di elementi magri, quale scegliereste?
Bisogna fare molta attenzione, in un mondo che ci bombarda di slogan, di informazioni non-stop e messaggi pubblicitari è importante non fermarsi alla prima informazione che riceviamo.
A mio avviso l’intervento del professor Motterlini è stato un intervento pieno di spunti, ricco di contenuti e formativo a livello personale, mi sento di dire che d’ora in poi cercherò di fare attenzione alle trappole mentali.
A fine intervento ho avuto la possibilità di rivolgere due domande al professore, ve le scrivo integralmente.
Ecco l’intervista a Matteo Motterlini.
Francesco Maestri: Professore, troppo spesso i professionisti della vendita e i consulenti aziendali lamentano il fatto di avere poco tempo a disposizione per preparare un incontro commerciale. Si trovano quindi a gestire l’incontro senza la giusta preparazione, rischiando di perdere la trattativa. Le chiedo: quanto è importante la preparazione o la formazione e come si gestiscono le emozioni in una trattativa?
Matteo Motterlini: “E’ sempre bene prepararsi, farsi una immagine mentale della situazione che si andrà a trovare e farsi trovare il più possibile pronti, se conosciamo i meccanismi delle nostre emozioni e i processi cognitivi che stanno dietro alle nostre decisioni possiamo essere più efficaci. Direi che non basta conoscerli ma bisogna esercitarli.”
Francesco Maestri: Durante una trattativa commerciale si cerca sempre un punto di accordo comune che non scontenti le due parti (venditore e potenziale cliente), si propongono condizioni razionali e si parla di logica win-win nella quale hanno vantaggi entrambi. Durante il suo intervento ha parlato molto della vendita come emozione, cosa ci può dire di questo aspetto?
Matteo Motterlini:“Ci sono molte teorie che dicono che un approccio razionale ad una negoziazione non funziona più. Pensare di trattare con le tecniche del win-win o assumendo una controparte razionale non è detto che sia il miglior modo di portare avanti una negoziazione. Le emozioni giocano un ruolo fondamentale e noi dobbiamo essere capaci di capire la psicologia dell’altro per trovare un punto d’accordo. Oggi le emozioni possono essere investigate dal punto di vista scientifico e quindi ne conosciamo sempre meglio i processi e dove ci portano. L’irrazionalità è prevedibile e sistematica e quindi bisogna tenerne conto anche durante le negoziazioni”.
Penso che, per ognuno di noi, sia fondamentale formarsi continuamente e ascoltare le esperienze degli esperti, anche se operano in settori diversi dal nostro.
Personalmente posso dire che questa due giorni di formazione mi permette di portare a casa consigli utili e spunti molto validi che posso mettere in pratica non solo nell’ambito lavorativo, ma anche in quello personale.
